Geometrical investigation of microchannel with two trapezoidal blocks subjected to laminar convective flows with and without boiling

Microchannels are important devices to improve the heat exchange in several engineering applications as heat, ventilation and air conditioning, microelectronic cooling, power generation systems others. The present work performs a numerical study of microchannel with two trapezoidal blocks subjected laminar flows, aiming analyze influence boiling process on geometric configuration microchannel. Constructal Design Exhaustive Search used for geometrical evaluation blocks. Mixture multi-phase model Lee phase change were both employed simulation process. In this study, height higher width first block (H11/L11) over transfer rate pressure drop different magnitudes ratio between lower (L12/L11) was investigated. It is considered water monophase cases water/vapor mixture multiphase flow. Two Reynolds numbers (ReH = 0.1 10.0) Results indicated that, thermal conditions, consideration flows not significant prediction optimal configurations. also showed that where enabled, multi-objective performance than without boiling, especially ReH 0.1.
